This is a set of 10 Tamenuri soup bowls with Maki-e in a wooden box .
>>
Tamenuri is a technique where a semi-transparent black topcoat is applied over a red undercoat, allowing the red to show through the lacquer. As it is used over time, the lacquer becomes more transparent, making the red color more visible.
>>
Maki-e is a technique in which designs, patterns, or characters are painted on the surface of lacquerware with lacquer, and before it dries, metal powders such as gold or silver are 'sprinkled' to adhere to the surface, or it refers to lacquerware made using this technique.
The inside of the lid is completely covered with a design, while the vessel has a small, simple design.
Each beautiful design is unique, allowing you to enjoy the magnificent maki-e when you open the lid.
>>
There are fine scratches that seem to have occurred during maintenance, but apart from that, there are no noticeable scratches or dirt.
