1999 Grant Burge, Meshach - Barossa - 3 Botellas (0,75 L)

Very rare bottles!! Grant Burge founded his eponymous winery in the heart of South Australia's Barossa Valley in 1988. The winery focuses on the typical Barossa grape varieties Shiraz, Mourvèdre and Grenache, making a range of wines including the highly respected Meshach Shiraz. Grant Burge Wines now forms part of the wider Accolade Wines portfolio. The estate has vineyards in both the Barossa and Eden Valleys, the former with deep, alluvial soils and the latter at high altitudes on rocky schist soils. The Barossa vineyards are dedicated to the red-wine grape varieties, while the cooler vineyards in Eden Valley are planted to whites, including Chardonnay, Semillon and Pinot Gris. Grant Burge produces a large portfolio of wines, encompassing many different styles. Wild yeasts, old vines, extended lees contact and a range of different oak treatments, allows for a diverse range of wines at various price points. Wines like the Holy Trinity GSM and the Filsell Cabernet Sauvignon are found in wine shops around the world. There are four "icon" wines: the Meshach Shiraz; the Shadrach Cabernet Sauvignon; the Abednego GSM blend and the Nebu – a Cabernet - Shiraz. The Meshach (named after Grant Burge's great grandfather, Meshach Burge) is aged for a total of 22 months in new French and American oak; the Shadrach Cabernet Sauvignon is fermented in open stainless-steel vats and then spends 21 months in both new and two-year-old oak. It is aged in the bottle for two years before its release and, like the Meshach, regularly receives high praise. The Abednego GSM blend is 100-percent Barossa Valley fruit, from vines that are, on average, 110 years old. It is all handpicked and a portion of the wine is aged in both French and American hogshead barrels for at least 16 months. The Nebu (short for Nebuchadnezzar, the Old Testament king who received the pilgrims Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego) is also made from old vines Barossa fruit. It is a newer addition to the icon range. Grant Burge was acquired by Accolade Wines in 2014.
