He worked as a railway worker before emigrating to France in 1924. Despite not being able to secure a position in a Parisian photography studio, he quickly gained practical experience and skills. Kollar's work spanned various genres, including documentary, illustrative, advertising, and journalistic photography. His most significant project, "La France travail," was created for the French publishing house Horizons de France and depicted the working life of French people in the early 1930s. Kollar's contributions to photography were recognized in various exhibitions, including a monographic exhibition at Galerie Jeu de Paume in Paris, which showcased his early work and later projects.
