David Bernard - The Morning Scholar

The Morning Scholar From the conceptual series: Peripheral Vision The Narrative: There is a specific kind of magic found in the hour before the world rushes in. The Morning Scholar isn't just a study of objects; it is a portrait of a headspace. It captures that fragile, fleeting moment where coffee is still steaming, the ink is wet, and the mind is free to wander between the lines of an old book. In this piece, I wanted to explore the weight of stillness. I chose a deliberately restrained composition to let the atmosphere do the talking. The way the golden light catches the frayed edges of the linen and the dust motes dancing in the air—it’s a dialogue between what is there and the quiet absence of the person who just stepped away. Technical Specifications & Provenance: Photographer: David Bernard Title: The Morning Scholar Year of Capture: 2018 Medium: Digital Print Edition: 1/1 (Unique Work). This is a one-of-a-kind physical print; no other copies of this size or medium exist in this edition. Signature: Signed and dated by the artist on the verso (reverse side). Condition: Very Fine / Pristine. Handled only with archival gloves. Documentation & Authenticity This work is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity (COA). Shipping & Handling To ensure the work arrives in its pristine state, it will be shipped in a heavy-duty reinforced tube, specifically designed for international art transit and maximum protection against impact. Aesthetic Note Shot in natural light with a delicate film grain, this photograph embraces the beauty of imperfection and the tactile nature of paper and stone. It is a piece designed for the collector who finds beauty in the "in-between" moments and prefers a story told in a whisper rather than a shout.
