Philips - F7511 Tocadiscos

Incredible machine from the early 80s. Upgraded to become the high end table it could have been from the start: - The power supply has been externalised. It now runs on 5V USB input, and the internal transformer is no longer used. A high quality, ultra-stable power converter creates the power supply needed internally. - The original RCA phono connection cable has been removed and replaced by two high-quality Neutrik RCA connectors, industry standard for quality and reliability (used in every sound studio worldwide) - A Ground / Earth connector was added that accepts standard "nude" wire or banana connectors. With these upgrades, the machine runs so quiet you do not hear any background noise or hum anymore. So minor wear on the front after all these years; see pictures, nothing dramatic. Dust cover is slightly less transparent than it was in its early days. Once again nothing dramatic, please inspect the pictures. Comes with a new belt and great 401 Stylus / Cartridge. It's unique in the sense that: - it features a belt driven, sub-platter, floating chassis construction like for instance a Thorens, BUT it has a quartz PLL controlled motor, normally associated with direct drive turntables; - it has a stylus force readout! A gauge weighs the tonearm when it is in rest and gives you instant feedback. No need to balance the tonearm manually. - it is fully automatic, fully electronically controlled. No complex and fiddly mechanics involved. - it is very shock proof. The machine features a sub-chassis on springs. - the original 401 cartridge is amazing! High quality stylus, high end sound. Description F7511 – Automatic electronic HiFi record player with quartz Phase Locked Loop. Direct needle force reading and anti-magnetic turntable. Easily complies with DIN 45,500. Automatic diameter selection, setting up of the take-up arm, photoelectric cut-off at the end of the plate, where the motor stops and the arm returns to the armrest. Speeds 33.3 and 45 rpm via quartz PLL tacho generator. Belt drive. Extremely low wow, flutter and rumble values. Direct-read needle force gauge. Continuous speed fine control using VCO-PLL system. Double-sided damped hydraulic arm lift with adjustable height. Precisely adjustable shear force compensation, calibrated for round and biradial needles. Damped-suspended sub-chassis for turntable and recording arm. Straight, ultra-lightweight aluminum tube arm with adjustable counterweight. Removable, ultra-lightweight die-cast element holder, suitable for all pickup elements with Retma mounting. Large anti-magnetic, precision-cast aluminum turntable. Generously sized transparent dust cover with friction hinges and rubber bumps. Player plays 30-cm records with closed lid. Base made of scratch-resistant, resonance-dampening material with rubber feet. Magnetodynamic pickup element GP401-III with diamond needle.
