This is a Bizen ware vase (single-flower holder) by the Japanese ceramic artist Takahashi Hideo. The piece features a distinctive triangular form, with the natural clay texture characteristic of unglazed Bizen pottery. During the firing process, natural effects such as “goma” (sesame-like ash deposits) and kiln transformations have developed across the surface, creating a rich and expressive appearance. The subtle transitions from dark brown to yellowish tones reflect the strength and natural beauty unique to Bizen ware. The rim has a slightly irregular shape, and the interior forms a triangular space, allowing for an elegant presentation with a single flower. The piece also holds strong sculptural presence as an object in its own right. Based on the inscription on the original wooden box, the work is attributed to Takahashi Hideo. ⸻ ■ Condition Overall in good condition. Natural kiln effects such as “goma,” firing marks, and small stone inclusions can be observed; these are characteristic features of Bizen ware and are not considered damage. There are no noticeable chips or cracks, and the piece remains in good condition. ⸻ ■ Included item Original wooden box ⸻ ■ Dimensions (approx.) Height: approx. 21.5 cm Opening diameter: approx. 6 cm Maximum width: approx. 9 cm Please refer to the photos for details. ⸻ The item will be carefully packed and shipped with tracking.
