Jarrón - Gres - Japón - Tokoname-yaki "Goroza"

Tokoname-yaki "Goroza" Studio Pottery Vase Artist: Goroza (常滑 五郎左) Origin: Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture, Japan Includes: Original Artist-Signed Tomobako (共箱) Description A robust and tactile stoneware vase from the renowned Tokoname (常滑) kilns. This piece is a quintessential example of Yakishime (焼き締め)—high-fired, unglazed pottery that relies on the natural transformation of clay and wood ash within the kiln to create its deep, earthy patina. The vessel features a warm, iron-rich reddish-brown body, characteristic of Tokoname’s ancient "Six Kilns" heritage. The surface is textured with subtle variations in "kiln-effect" shading, ranging from charcoal greys to scorched oranges, embodying the Japanese aesthetic of Wabi-sabi. Authentication & Provenance Signature: This work is authenticated by the original paulownia wood box (Tomobako), which bears the artist's handwritten calligraphy and red seal (五郎左). Note on Signature: In keeping with certain studio traditions where the artist prioritizes the uninterrupted natural texture of the clay, the vase itself is unsigned, with the artist's mark appearing exclusively on the accompanying box. Specifications Type: Tokoname-yaki (常滑焼) Form: Hanakago / Decorative Vase Dimensions: 25cm (H) x 18cm (W) x 19cm (D) Condition: Natural aging consistent with vintage studio pottery. Ships from: Japan The item will be carefully packed and shipped from Japan with tracking to ensure safe delivery. Please allow 1–2 weeks for delivery depending on your location and local customs processing. All items are carefully packed and promptly shipped with tracking numbers provided immediately upon dispatch. Important Information – Please Read Before Bidding Customs & Duties: Customs duties, VAT, and import clearance fees are not included in the shipping cost and are the responsibility of the buyer.
