Sold through Christie's on April 28th 1966 for 388 guineas 10 shillings (which was a very large amount) as lot 19: PIETER BALTEN - De Vuile Bruid - dated 1563 - on panel - 19¾in. by 26¼in.
Beautiful pentimento visible on the nose of the bride. High-quality piece, well-preserved with some scattered inpainting.
Oil on panel: ca. 54 x 66 cms, with custom-made contemporary frame: ca. 69 X 81 cms
