Santi Pina is a visual artist whose work is rooted in contemporary realism, with a solid technical foundation influenced by the tradition of European Baroque.
After completing his training at the Barcelona Academy of Art, In 2025, he presents his solo exhibition at the MEAM (European Museum of Modern Art) in Barcelona, in collaboration with the international editorial The Guide Artists. This exhibition marks a significant milestone in his career, consolidating his position within the European figurative art scene and placing his work in dialogue with the emerging new realism.
Additionally, Santi Pina has recently published his first book, a carefully curated edition by The Guide Artist Publishing
About this artwork:
Originis portrays two intertwined human bodies (one male, one female) depicted without faces, stripped of identity, time, and context. Their interaction evokes both tenderness and elemental force. The male body, muscular and grounded, references The Forge of Vulcan by Velázquez, with a deliberate nod to myth, labor, and divine creation. The female form, curved and receptive, balances the composition, not as passive, but as origin: source, muse, mirror.
The lack of facial features removes individual narrative, allowing the figures to exist as archetypes: creator and creation, energy and matter, motion and stillness. Originis becomes a meditation on the act of becoming: the raw, sacred space where bodies shape one another and something entirely new emerges
