"Botanyuki" depicts a girl standing in a scene of falling snow. The artwork shows a girl with reddened cheeks wearing a winter hood, surrounded by large falling snowflakes. It represents the contrast between the cold of winter and the warmth of a child.

Artist Profile:
Born in 1921 in Ibaraki Prefecture. He mastered woodblock printing and kirie (paper cutting), creating serialized articles for a major newspaper that became a social phenomenon. He lyrically depicted Japanese rural landscapes and the lives of common people through woodblock prints and kirie. He was an active member of the Japan Children's Publication Artists Federation. Died in 2009.
