IDENTITAS #2
This painting is part of a small series exploring the nature of personal identity and its evolution over time. The work reflects on how identity is shaped by both consistency and change, and how these forces interact to create a sense of self that is always in flux.
The piece is created on unbleached cotton twill using acrylic paint and embroidery, adding texture and depth to the visual narrative. By examining the balance between sameness and variability, the series questions whether identity is a continuous transformation or simply a series of variations on a constant theme.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ine Agresta (1988) is a Uruguayan artist based in Sønderborg, Denmark, and her art is her way of understanding people, their behavior, and how the world works, in order to better understand herself. Growing up surrounded by curiosity and materials, she was always making and observing, a spirit that led her to fashion and textile design in Montevideo, where her interest in clothing as a language of identity brought early national recognition. Her path has intentionally wandered through Uruguayan handcraft traditions, a fully funded master’s degree in Art Theory in Beijing, and time living in Greenland, where vast landscapes reshaped her sense of color and presence. Today, living in Denmark, her work is vibrant and emotionally clear, blending archetypal ideas with personal stories to explore what connects us and what defines her.

Ine Agresta es una artista uruguaya que vive en Sønderborg, Dinamarca. Su arte es la forma en que ella comprende a las personas, sus comportamientos y la manera en que funciona el mundo, para poder entenderse mejor a sí misma en el camino.
Creció rodeada de tiempo, materiales y curiosidad, siempre creando cosas y siempre observando. Ese espíritu inquieto la llevó a la moda y al diseño textil en Montevideo, donde su fascinación por la ropa como un lenguaje de identidad le valió un reconocimiento nacional temprano. Desde allí, su camino se desvió a propósito, adentrándose en las tradiciones artesanales uruguayas, cruzando el mundo hasta Beijing para realizar una maestría totalmente financiada en Teoría del Arte, y más tarde a Groenlandia, donde vivir entre infinitos tonos de blanco silenciosamente redefinió su sentido del espacio, el color y la presencia.
Hoy, su trabajo es vibrante, audaz y emocionalmente claro, combinando ideas arquetípicas con historias personales para hablar sobre lo que nos conecta a todos.
