This hand carved, reproduction Chippendale doll chair/ children's chair features an array of refined details: ball and claw feet, acanthus carved legs, seat rail shell, pierced and heavily carved splat, rolled crest rail with shell and flowing acanthus tendrils. Through mortise & tenoned joinery, finished with oil, glaze, & shellac. Mahogany features a delightfully warm tone and straight grain that seems to become even more luminous beneath a satin semi-gloss finish. The sumptuous reddish-brown tone of mahogany will also darken over time. In good condition, details see pictures.
