A vase authentically inspired by Chinese designs, rather than merely European ‘chinoiserie’, most likely dating from the second half of the 20th century (most likely: 1960–1990). The circular shape symbolises longevity — a classic Chinese motif, very common on decorative Chinese porcelain intended for export. Cylindrical opalescent glass vase with monochrome red decoration on a white background, featuring Chinese-inspired ornamental motifs and the ‘Shou’ symbol (longevity), with repetitive arabesques and stylised panels, a symmetrical composition typical of Chinese or Chinese-inspired (Chinoiserie) production. Decorative piece, probably 20th-century, intended for the European export market in an Orientalist style. No visible markings. Height: 25 cm. Please see the photos.
