Bakalowits & Söhne - Jarrón (3) - Vidrio, Oro

Set of 3 Viennese Jugendstil Liqueur Glasses – Bakalowits & Söhne / Meyr’s Neffe Circa: 1902 Origin: Vienna, Austria / Bohemia (Adolfov) Editor/Distributor: E. Bakalowits & Söhne Execution: Meyr’s Neffe Description A rare and authentic set of three (3) Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) liqueur glasses, showcasing the refined aesthetics of Viennese Modernism (Wiener Moderne). This specific model was designed around 1902 for the world-renowned Viennese firm E. Bakalowits & Söhne. These pieces were executed by the premier Bohemian glassworks Meyr’s Neffe, a factory famous for its high-end collaborations with Secessionist masters such as Koloman Moser and Otto Prutscher. The design features the radical shift towards geometric elegance that defined the Vienna Secession: The Bowl (Kuppa): Crafted in a delicate light green tint with a sophisticated "optically ribbed" (optisch gerippt) pattern, which creates a beautiful play of light. Gilding: The rims are decorated with a fine gold-painted line, adding a touch of Viennese luxury to the minimalist form. The Stem & Base: A remarkably slender, high-drawn stem made of clear crystal glass, terminating in a perfectly balanced flat circular foot. Condition Report General: Very good antique condition considering these pieces are over 120 years old. The glass remains bright and clear. Specifics: Two glasses are in excellent condition. One glass has a single, microscopic flea-bite (micro-chip) on the rim, which is barely visible and does not detract from the set's display value. Gilding: As is typical for glassware of this age, the delicate gold line on the rims has partially worn away in places due to historical use. Technical Details Height: 15.2 cm Bowl Diameter: 3.3 cm Foot Diameter: 4.1 cm Weight: approx. 51g per glass Materials: Light green tinted glass, clear crystal glass, gold enamel.
