Madera, Nácar - Oriente Medio - Siglo XIX - XX
Levantine armchair in carved natural wood with mother-of-pearl decoration. The chair features an elegant curved structure, rolled armrests, crossed legs, pierced wooden elements, and a high sculpted back with architectural, floral, geometric and Oriental motifs.
The surface is richly worked with carved arabesque decoration and small mother-of-pearl inlays, especially on the back, seat, armrests and base. The overall form is very decorative and sculptural, typical of Levantine craftsmanship, and would work well as an accent chair, collector’s piece or statement object in an eclectic, Orientalist or traditional interior.
Dimensions: H. 103 cm, W. approx. 65 cm, D. approx. 60 cm.
Condition: good decorative condition overall, with small accidents, minor losses, age-related wear and signs of use consistent with an older handmade object. Please see photos.
Shipping: collection on site preferred. Due to the size and fragility of the chair, the buyer may also arrange a professional carrier / transport company.
