"The Last Empires" is an original mixed media work on canvas created in 2024 by Romanian contemporary artist Corina Dinu. In a single breathtaking composition, fragments of humanity's greatest civilisations collide — an elephant walks beneath Saturn's rings, a medieval knight stands among Aztec gods, Soviet architecture looms over Roman ruins, an ancient manuscript lies open beside a jewelled dagger, and a skull watches it all in silence.
This is not a painting about the past. It is a warning about the present.
