Rare vintage Japanese wooden jubako storage box finished with traditional Urushi lacquer and decorated with elegant crane and pine tree motifs in maki-e style. The glossy black lacquer exterior contrasts beautifully with the deep vermilion red interior, while the underside of the lid also features delicate decorative artwork, adding further refinement and artistic value.
This handcrafted two-tier jubako reflects the sophisticated aesthetics of traditional Japanese lacquerware from the Showa period. The symbolic scenery of cranes, pine trees, and moonlit landscape expresses the calm elegance associated with classic Japanese decorative arts. Originally designed as a food container for special occasions, it can also be beautifully displayed today as an interior object, jewelry box, tea utensil case, or collectible storage piece.
The lustrous lacquer surface and detailed hand-painted decoration create a luxurious presence suitable for both traditional Japanese interiors and modern spaces.
