Here we have a superb impasto oil on canvas. signed by the French artist Lucien Delarue. The painting depicts a Parisian River scene with the mountains in the distance. Along the winding river are dwellings with red tiled roofs. The artwork is signed lower right in cream paint Delarue. The artwork is mounted, framed and glazed. This is a very impressive painting which would grace any wall in your home. Biography : Lucien Delarue (1925-2011), a celebrated French Impressionist painter famous for his romantic oils and watercolours of cityscapes, especially of Paris and surrounding area, capturing its architecture, rivers, harbours, and vibrant street life before WWII. Lucien is the prominent figure known for these iconic street scenes, often featuring Parisian rooftops, flower stalls, and quaint cafes, making him a beloved "artist of the street". As well as Montmartre rooftops, South of France harbours (Nice, St. Tropez), floral still lifes, and river scenes. His Style of French Impressionism, known for its romantic mood, contained vibrant colours and architectural details.
