Izumo ware - Crane Pattern Daifuku Tea Bowl - Cuenco para té - Arcilla

This is a "Taifuku Tea Bowl with Bird Design" by the renowned Japanese Izumo (or Shino) ware master "Yamajita Kinzo." The theme, "Taifuku Tea Bowl with Bird Design," is a classic "crane motif" in Japanese tea ceremony. One side of the bowl is glazed with pink-spotted Shino glaze, featuring a simple crane painted using the white clay painting technique. The lines are extremely minimalist and expressive, showcasing the rustic beauty characteristic of Shino ware. The other side is left blank, glazed with white Shino glaze, creating a striking contrast of light and shadow. The interior of the bowl is glazed with crackled white Shino glaze, covered with natural ice-crack patterns, warm and smooth like jade. Using traditional Shino ware techniques, with feldspar as the glaze material, it is fired once at high temperature, resulting in a glaze surface with natural crackles and pink spots. This is a renowned tea ceremony technique passed down from the Momoyama period of Japan. The bowl is a cylindrical matcha bowl with a slightly constricted rim and a raised foot rim bearing the character "福" (Fu, meaning good fortune). The base is marked with a kiln stamp, a finishing touch to the "大福" (Da Fu, meaning great fortune) theme. Dimensions: Diameter 11.2 mm, Height 9.2 mm
