Antique Catalan Modernisme Wooden Frame, circa 1900, 60 × 80 cm
Beautiful antique wooden picture frame dating from the late 19th to early 20th century (circa 1895–1915).
Handcrafted wooden construction with carved decorative ornamentation and original patinated finish. The frame features a richly detailed repeating floral and scroll motif characteristic of the Art Nouveau / Modernisme period. The dark patina in the recessed areas highlights the depth of the carving and gives the frame a warm antique appearance.
The reverse side retains its original construction details, including traditional corner joints and period metal retaining fittings. These elements, together with the natural ageing of the wood and finish, indicate an early 20th-century manufacture.
