Rara placa conmemorativa de bronce (1900) de August Vogel - August Vogel - Placa - Bronce
This exceptional 718-gram bronze cabinet plaque was created by the renowned German medalist August Vogel (A. VOGEL FEC.) to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Prussian Academy of Sciences (1700–1900).
The obverse features a masterful Art Nouveau allegorical relief of the Fountain of Knowledge.
The reverse, styled as a triptych under the Academy’s Latin motto "Cognata ad sidera tendit", pays tribute to Germany's greatest minds: the left wing honors 18th-century founders like Leibniz, Euler, and Frederick the Great, while the right wing lists 19th-century giants including the Grimm Brothers, Helmholtz, and Virchow.
Rare large presentation format 19*16.5cm, historically reserved for institutional collections and high-ranking academics.
The piece remains in excellent museum-grade condition, showcasing a magnificent, untouched olive-brown aged patina that fully guarantees its historical authenticity.
