Cuenco - Porcelana - tazón Imari de Kangxi

Chinese Imari Porcelain Bowl, Kangxi Period (1662–1722) A fine Chinese Imari porcelain bowl dating to the Kangxi period. This bowl is decorated in the highly desirable Chinese Imari palette, combining underglaze cobalt blue, iron-red enamels and gilt decoration. The design features four large ruyi-head panels alternating with four smaller ruyi motifs, all enriched with floral decoration. Chinese Imari porcelain represents one of the most technically demanding decorative styles of the Kangxi period. The production required multiple firings: 1. The bowl was first painted in underglaze cobalt blue and fired at high temperature. 2. Iron-red enamels were then applied and fixed in a second low-temperature firing. 3. Finally, genuine gold decoration was added and fired again at low temperature to complete the design. The result is a rich combination of blue, iron-red and gold, reflecting the influence of Japanese Imari wares while maintaining the refinement of Chinese export porcelain. Dimensions * Height: 5.5 cm * Diameter: 11.5 cm * Weight: 159 g Condition * Two hairlines. * Two small rim chips. * Please refer to the photographs for full condition details. Despite the condition issues, this remains an attractive and highly instructive example of Kangxi-period Chinese Imari porcelain, illustrating one of the most celebrated export porcelain styles of the late 17th and early 18th centuries.
