Icono - Trinidad del Antiguo Testamento - Madera

Antique Russian Orthodox icon of the Old Testament Trinity / Hospitality of Abraham, housed in a wooden kiot with hinged glass door. The hand-painted icon depicts the three angels seated at the table with Abraham kneeling before them, with a decorative border and gilt-toned inner frame. The inscription at the lower edge appears to refer to the Holy Trinity. Likely late 19th to early 20th century.

The icon is in worn antique condition, with visible craquelure, paint losses, surface wear, rubbing and age-related wear throughout. There is a noticeable indentation on the left side of the decorative border, as well as two visible holes: one near the upper centre of the border and another in the upper right area of the painted field. The wooden kiot shows wear, chips and losses to the gilded frame, and general age-related wear to the case and glass door.
