Chinese Blue and White Crackle Glazed Brush Pot, Mid Qing Dynasty, Chenghua Mark A fine Chinese blue and white crackle-glazed brush pot dating to the mid-Qing Dynasty. The cylindrical body is decorated in underglaze blue with elegant floral motifs and butterflies, painted in a lively and natural style. The surface is covered with an attractive network of naturally formed crackles, beautifully stained with a warm golden tone, creating a striking and highly decorative appearance. The base bears an apocryphal six-character mark reading “Chenghua Nian Zhi” (Made during the Chenghua period), a tribute mark commonly found on later Qing porcelains. This piece is a charming example of Qing scholarly wares and would make an excellent addition to a collection of Chinese blue and white porcelain or traditional Chinese desk objects. Dimensions * Height: 11.8 cm * Weight: 322 g Condition Due to the extensive natural crackle decoration covering the entire body, there appears to be one hairline crack visible upon close inspection. The interior rim also shows a few small chips. Please study the photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description. A decorative and collectible Qing Dynasty brush pot displaying beautiful crackle glaze, vibrant cobalt-blue painting, and excellent antique character.
