Set of Two Glass Fish – Where Light Meets the Silence of the Sea

"The greatest luxury is not complexity, but perfect simplicity."

Some artworks do not seek attention. They simply become impossible to forget.

This pair of handcrafted glass fish, created by Polish glass artist Maciej Habrat, is a celebration of simplicity, balance, and the quiet beauty of the underwater world. Inspired by the fluid elegance of marine life rather than its literal form, these sculptures capture the essence of the sea through clean silhouettes, luminous colour, and the ever-changing language of light.

Made using the traditional glass fusing technique, each sculpture is carefully composed from layers of clear and coloured glass before being kiln-fired into a single harmonious form. Delicate textures and tiny air bubbles remain suspended within the glass, creating remarkable depth and subtle movement. As daylight passes through them, the colours awaken, revealing new shades and shimmering reflections throughout the day.

Their minimalist shape invites contemplation. Their rich blue tones recall tropical lagoons, the quiet depths of the ocean, and the serenity found beneath the surface. Together they create a silent dialogue—one larger, one smaller—bringing a sense of harmony and timeless elegance wherever they are displayed.

These sculptures do not merely portray fish—they capture the poetry of water itself. Graceful, tranquil, and full of life, they remind us that true beauty often lies in what has been distilled to its purest form. Like the sea itself, they reveal their character slowly, with every passing ray of light.

Every piece is individually handmade by Maciej Habrat, a Polish glass artist with more than twenty years of experience. No moulds are used, ensuring that every sculpture possesses its own subtle variations and unique character. More than decorative objects, they are contemporary glass artworks that celebrate craftsmanship, light, and the quiet power of simplicity.
