Walt Disney - Orphans Benefit (1934) - Mickey Mouse Production Drawing

Orphans Benefit (1934) Mickey Mouse Production Drawing Ready to put on a show, this animation drawing depicts Mickey Mouse playing the musical accompaniment for Clara Cluck's operatic performance, but his fingers get a little tied on the keys. Literally! This hilarious Burt Gillett-directed short, Orphan's Benefit, followed Mickey and the gang as they put on a free show for local orphans that was complete with nursery rhymes by Donald Duck, and all the chaos of early Disney shorts. With music and acting performances by Clara Cluck, Goofy, and Horace Horsecollar. It was released to theaters on 8/11/1934 and would later be remade and re-released in color in 1941. This captured moment can be found near the 7:20 timestamp, when Mickey's fingers are twisted by his piano playing and he tries to leverage his foot to detangle them. Rendered in graphite on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper. Numbered 39 in the lower right corner, this over 90-year-old drawing shows light production handling wear, edge wear, peghole supports, minor linework smudging, and age-related toning. In Very Good condition.
