Caja - Esmalte, .875 (84 zolotniki) plata

A circular Russian Imperial silver pendant box, most probably intended as a snuff box, dating to circa 1900–1910. The body is crafted in 84 zolotnik silver — the standard Imperial Russian purity mark equivalent to 875/1000 — and the lid is decorated with a flower basket motif rendered in translucent guilloche enamel, a technique in which vitreous enamel is applied over an engine-turned engraved silver ground, producing a rippled, light-catching optical effect. The box is stamped with a maker's mark on both sides; the workshop has not been identified, and the assay city mark and date letter, while present, have not been confirmed from available data. Diameter is 4 cm and weight is 24 g. Condition is graded Good: the box retains its structural integrity and the enamel remains translucent with its original colour; however, slight defects are present in the enamel surface, the precise nature and location of which must be assessed from the photographs. No repairs or restorations are visible or known, but buyers should inspect the enamel edges closely before bidding. This type of small silver-and-enamel pendant box was produced by numerous workshops across Imperial Russia in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Good condition: structurally sound; enamel remains translucent with original colour. Slight defects present in the enamel surface (see photos). No visible repairs or restoration.
