Óleo y acrílico
This expressive portrait by contemporary artist Ionuț Hazu captures a profound sense of introspection through a bold, layered technique. By blending oil and acrylic paints, the artist creates a striking contrast between raw, textured applications of color and the focused clarity of the subject’s gaze. The monochromatic background serves to emphasize the complexity of the figure, inviting viewers to explore the intersection of identity and perception.
Artist’s Note
This piece is a reflection on the layers we hide and the parts of ourselves we reveal to the world. It was born from the idea that identity is not a static state, but a constant, messy process of transformation. Through the contrasting textures of oil and acrylic, I wanted to capture that delicate balance between the chaos of our inner thoughts and the need for clarity in how we are perceived. It is a portrait of the unseen.
About artist:
Hazu Ionut is a self-taught painter born in Bacau, Romania. From a young age he was attracted to visual arts, but without a mentor to guide him, he took the brush and started painting. He still doesn't have a particular style, that's why in his portfolio we find works of art from portraits to figurative art and static nature. Many of his artworks have appeared in various catalogs dedicated to art lovers.
Appears in publications with interviews such as Mutual art, Pice Gallery, Artit.
Shipping: The painting is prepared for shipment on a stretcher frame, ready to be displayed.
Signed by the artist on the back.
Includes a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity.
