Remixed Icons Series
In Remixed Icons, images from different times, contexts, and cultural spheres come together. Iconic motifs from advertising, film, music, and art are revisited, recombined, and translated into a shared visual language.

Starting from familiar imagery, each composition evokes a sense of recognition while gently introducing surprise. The original references remain present, yet they are expanded, shifted, and placed into new relationships. In this way, spaces emerge where the familiar continues to resonate while becoming open to new interpretations.

Comic characters appear as quiet narrators within these scenes. Sometimes playful, sometimes subtle, they act as connectors between visual worlds. Their presence softens boundaries, brings together different layers, and invites the viewer into a more personal and imaginative reading. Through them, new stories unfold—light, open, and rich in possibility.

The visual language of the works draws from classic poster and print aesthetics. Texture, color, and typography echo the atmosphere of past eras, giving the images a timeless quality. At the same time, their reinterpretation creates something distinctly contemporary and unique.

The series can be understood as an open dialogue between past and present. It invites viewers to rediscover familiar images, to see them from new perspectives, and to reconnect with their own visual memories. Between memory, imagination, and a sense of playful curiosity, the works create spaces where images continue to evolve.

Emma Wildfang is a young Pop-Art street artist. Her artworks are scattered in collections all over the world. She manages to create a very special vintage style. After attending the master class, the artist has been self-taught since 2002. Her constant search for new techniques and means of expression made it almost imperative for her to now also deal with spatial structures as a sculptor. Due to the restlessness and instability of her creative process she lives up to the name Wildfang. However, in all of her works, Wildfang does not seek the perfect, symmetrically idealized work, but instead finds beauty in the fragmented, in the detail, and in the enigmatic. Her way of working is to find perfection in the imperfect.

The artwork comes directly from the studio of the artist.
