1966 Bill of Lading - GELLATLY, HANKEY & CO. (Sudan) Ltd. - SS "Garden City" - Port Sudan to Piraeus An exceptionally well-preserved original Bill of Lading (B/L) dated January 25, 1966. This document is a prime piece of maritime and financial history, documenting a significant trade shipment from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean during the mid-20th century. The document was issued by the prestigious Gellatly, Hankey & Co. (Sudan) Ltd., a historic British shipping and merchant agency founded in 1862. Their role was pivotal in the trade routes between the UK, Africa, and the Mediterranean. Vessel: S.S. "GARDEN CITY" (operated by the Saint Line Ltd). Cargo: 333 bags of Sudanese Sesame Seed (Total weight: 24,975 kg / Approx. 25 Tons). Route: Loaded at Port Sudan, destined for Piraeus, with a final logistics note: "In Transit to Patras".
