Corina Dinu - "Stained Gaze" - XXL

There's a moment right before recognition — when a face is still just color and shape, and the eyes are the only thing that tells you someone is looking back. That's where this piece lives. I built the whole composition around that instant, letting the face fracture into vertical bands of color the way light breaks through glass, until the only thing holding it together is the gaze.
I worked with clean, flat fields of acrylic here, keeping each color block sharp and deliberate — I wanted the surface to feel almost like glass itself, with hard edges instead of blended transitions. The eyes stayed the anchor through every change I made to the composition; everything else could shift, but they had to hold.
