Jarrón - Bronce - Japón - Cloud Brocade Patina - Takaoka Doki

Item Description This is a cast bronze vase (鋳銅 chudo) produced in the Takaoka Doki (高岡銅器) tradition, the renowned metalworking craft centered in Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, Japan, with roots going back over four centuries. The piece bears the impressed mark of the artist 和正 Kazumasa on the underside of the foot. The vase has a full, rounded ovoid body that tapers to a short, slightly flared neck, giving it a solid and balanced presence. The surface is finished with a mottled patina combining tones of green, blue-green, and darker verdigris (緑青 rokusho), created through a traditional oxidation and coloring process applied to the cast bronze surface. The cloud-like, irregular patterning across the body (referred to as 雲錦 unkin, "cloud brocade") gives each area of the vase a slightly different tonal character, ranging from deep bronze-green to a lighter, almost turquoise hue. The vase is accompanied by its original wooden storage box (共箱 tomobako), suggesting it was kept and stored with care. This piece would suit collectors of Japanese metalwork, practitioners of ikebana (華道 kado), or anyone seeking an accent piece with a distinctive, organic surface finish. Size Height: 21.5 cm Width: 16 cm Depth: 16 cm Weight 1701 g Condition The vase is in generally good condition overall, consistent with age and prior use. Visual inspection shows a small area of light wear to the glaze/patina near the foot ring, visible as a faint discoloration, which does not affect the structural integrity of the piece. No cracks, dents, or repairs have been noted. Please refer to the photographs for a full visual assessment, as they form part of the item description. Additional Information Maker: Takaoka Doki (高岡銅器), Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, Japan Artist mark: 和正 (Kazumasa) Material: Cast bronze (鋳銅) with applied patina finish Includes: Original wooden storage box (共箱) NOITICE: The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post, DHL or FedEx depend on the situation. It takes about 3 weeks to receive normally. Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Sometimes Customes or delivery company in your country contact you for Customs clearance via phone or email. Please make sure that you could answer the phone.
