Against an uncompromising yellow field, three monumental figures stand like rulers summoned for judgment. Their eyes are wide, their mouths defensive and their crowns exaggerated into jagged armour. At the far left, a narrow one-eyed witness observes in silence. Yet beneath this performance of authority, hand-drawn hearts remain exposed across the figures’ bodies, revealing what their intimidating masks cannot conceal.

In Brave Faces, ARVY uses the instinctive directness of naïve art to explore a familiar human ritual: performing confidence while feeling completely visible. Anatomy yields to emotion, allowing eyes, teeth and crowns to grow according to their psychological weight. Dense black forms collide with violet, pink, cobalt and green, while scratches, splatters and unfinished lines keep the image restless and alive. The saturated yellow behaves less like a background than a floodlight—there is nowhere for these characters to hide.

Immediate and electric from across the room, the painting becomes more vulnerable with every closer look. Its figures are not monsters, but imperfect survivors attempting to appear stronger than they feel. Artist Bio:
ARVY is a fourth-generation artist continuing a family legacy of visual and performance art. He studied painting at an art college, graduating in 2016, and has been active in the art world ever since.

Raised in a creative household, ARVY began his artistic path in childhood while assisting his father — painter, illusionist and performer Arvydas Gaičiūnas ( Retne ), co-founder of Magic Theater DiArchy. This early exposure to both visual art and stage performance shaped his distinctive, theatrical sensibility.

ARVY’s work is eclectic and emotionally charged, blending elements of contemporary expressionism, symbolism, street energy, and poetic abstraction. His pieces explore contrasts — chaos and harmony, intuition and control — reflecting the pulse of modern life through vivid color and raw gesture.

He has exhibited internationally and his works are held in private collections across Europe. Beyond painting, ARVY is also known for his creative versatility as a musician and digital creator, bringing the same intensity and imagination to sound, movement, and image.
