A rare vintage Billingham 330 camera bag, handmade in England in the classic Khaki Canvas and Tan Leather colour combination. The Billingham 330 dates from 1983 and represents an interesting transitional period in Billingham’s history, combining characteristics of the earlier Billingham System bags with features found on the company’s later numbered camera-bag range. This example has been identified as a Billingham 330 through comparison with Billingham’s archive photographs, specifications and technical drawing. Its dimensions and proportions, twin front pockets, distinctive curved leather-trimmed flap, side pockets, carrying handles, shoulder-sling construction and period SystemFlex interior correspond with the documented model. The internal leather label bears the historic “Billingham System — Lye, Stourbridge, England” address. Billingham operated from its Lye factory between 1980 and 1991, consistent with the period of this model. The bag is in very good vintage condition, especially considering its age of over 40 years. The khaki canvas and tan leather are very well preserved, with light signs of use and a gentle age-related patina. All zips, straps, brass fittings and quick-release closures operate correctly.
