Large and impressive hand-carved wooden planter from Bali, Indonesia, dating from the second half of the 20th century.
The piece has an exceptionally elongated form and is richly decorated with traditional Balinese-style carving. Both ends feature large expressive anthropomorphic faces, while the sides are embellished with carved ornamental and vegetal motifs.
The planter measures approximately 190 cm in length, 20 cm in width and 15 cm in height, making it a striking decorative object with considerable visual presence. The long central cavity can be used for plants or as an unusual decorative centerpiece.
The wood has developed an attractive dark patina over time.
