Descripción del vendedor
Ancient Luristan / Greek Bronze Spearhead — Early 1st Millennium BCE
Dimensions: approx. 30 × 3.5 cm
A substantial ancient bronze spearhead dating to the early 1st millennium BCE, associated with the bronze weapon traditions of ancient Luristan and the wider Greek / Near Eastern world.
The spearhead has a long, narrow leaf-shaped blade with a pronounced central ridge and an elongated tang for attachment to a wooden shaft. Its form reflects the practical military design of the period, combining a strong piercing point with a broad cutting edge.
The surface is covered with a naturally aged dark green and brown patina, with areas of mineralisation and encrustation consistent with prolonged burial. Despite its considerable age, the overall form remains clearly defined and visually impressive.
Bronze spearheads of this type were used both as functional weapons and as prestigious martial objects, and comparable forms are known throughout western Iran, Anatolia and the eastern Mediterranean during the early Iron Age.
Culture: Luristan / Greek / Near Eastern
Date: ca. early 1st millennium BCE
Material: Bronze
Dimensions: approx. 30 × 3.5 cm
Condition: Ancient surface wear, patination, mineral deposits and minor edge losses consistent with age.
