Lámpara - Bronce - Yukimidōrō de entramado (雪見灯)

Title: Japanese Bronze Yukimidōrō (雪見灯), Chilong Scroll & Four Season Floral Openwork Medium: Lost-wax cast bronze, full openwork carving Origin: Japan Dimensions: approx. H 30 (including handle) × W 22.2 × D 22.2 cm (H 11.8 × W 8.7 × D 8.7 in) Weight: approx. 3000 g (6.6 lbs) Material: Bronze Period: Late Taisho to early Showa (circa 1910–1920s) This pavilion-shaped bronze Yukimidōrō (雪見灯) is a classic Japanese decorative piece dating from the late Taisho to early Showa era. Cast in one piece using the traditional lost-wax casting technique, it can be hung or placed on the ground. Ideal for gardens, tea rooms and entryways, it serves as an incense burner, candle lantern and ambient decorative piece. Crafted in authentic Japanese pavilion form with a neat pyramidal roof textured to mimic thatch. The four sides are fully decorated with elaborate openwork: the outer border carved with chilong scrolling vines, and the central round medallions with auspicious four seasonal flowers (plum, orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum), forming delicate layered patterns. One side features an access door, stuck due to rust and requiring simple cleaning for placing candles or incense. It rests on four feet with openwork for ventilation. The whole lantern is a single solid casting, robust and stable. The bronze carries naturally formed, mellow century-old patina, with thick and fine surface crust and profound antique metallic texture. When lit, light filters through the refined openwork carvings and creates a captivating atmosphere. It is an elegant Japanese decorative object. Due to age, there is natural oxidation, antique patina and wear from use. One foot is slightly distorted, no repairs to main body. Overall good condition relative to its period.
