Descripción del vendedor
Bronze ring with angular geometric engraving – 10th–15th century AD
A bronze ring with a rounded disc decorated by deeply incised angular lines. Intersecting segments form a geometric composition that stands out through the contrast between the dark field and paler grooves. Longitudinal or slightly oblique lines remain on the shoulders beside the bezel. The simple hoop has surface irregularities and ochre deposits. No alphabetic reading is proposed for the motif. The engraving is the most conspicuous part of the ring, with deep strokes retaining a stronger definition than the finer shoulder lines. The angular arrangement fills much of the face and is not simply a plain perimeter border. In profile, the disc forms a small platform above the hoop. The different tones within and around the incisions make the design visible, although the surviving strokes should be described as ornament rather than translated into an unverified inscription.
Material: Bronze
Dimensions: 2.0 x 1.9 cm
Weight: 3.43 gr
Provenance: Aduired in Germany from an auction House, previously from a personal collection.
We guarantee the authenticity of the pieces, backed by the combined experience of our experts spanning more than 40 years.
