Rosa and Josepha Blažek, the conjoined twins, were born in Skrejšov, Bohemia, on 20 January 1878. At the age of 13, their mother took them to Paris where they were first exhibited. She found a manager who taught them to play xylophone. They immediately drew a lot of attention. When one of the sisters got pregnant and gave birth to a son in 1909, they were a hit in Europe. Josepha died on 22 March 1922 and her sister Rosa also died because of this. She died 12 minutes later. This is a rare photo taken in July 1881 when the twins were still unknown to the general public. Top left of the photo is unfortunately bent, but reinforced on the back with a piece of tape.
