A wonderful antique Swedish silver snuff box made in 1875, marked on the inside with JW for the maker, three crowns for Swedish silver control, M for Malmö, and the year letter V5 for 1875. The box is finely engraved on the top with the initials “J.A.” and inscribed underneath “Minne af J.J.H.” (“In memory of J.J.H.”). It is beautifully made with intricate hand engraving, smooth rounded edges, and a yellow-toned interior typical for 19th-century snuff boxes. The condition is lovely with only light surface wear and a few small dents visible on the back (see photos). Overall it looks fantastic and very well-preserved for its age.
