Jarrón - Loza de barro - Jarrón octogonal de Delft

An attractive, large Delft blue and white earthenware octagonal vase, likely dating to the late 17th. The vase features a flared foot, a tapering body, and a short, octagonal neck. This vase represents a fine example of high-quality Delftware from one of the notable factories during the Dutch Golden Age, appealing to collectors of European ceramics, Delft pottery, and Chinoiserie decorative arts. The maker's mark adds significant historical and collector value. Height: 28 cm Width:16 cm Depth: 13,5 cm Condition: Very good condition. No chips or cracks reported. Also no repair. It is unusual that the vase without damage after centuries. Absolutely museum quality. The decoration is executed in a rich cobalt blue on a white tin-glaze ground, displaying a fine example of Chinoiserie style, characteristic of Delftware production influenced by imported Chinese porcelain. The design includes: Main Register: Large, detailed panels or reserves on the shoulder featuring dense, intricate floral and foliate motifs, possibly incorporating cornucopia-like elements and cross-hatching patterns, all set against a richly stippled dark blue ground. Body Decoration: The lower body and central panels are decorated with delicate sprays of flowers, scrolling foliage, and vignettes showing Chinese landscape elements, including a tiered pagoda/pavilion and a flying bird. Other panels feature a single bird perched among flowering branches. Foot and Neck: The foot is finished with a scalloped border pattern, and the short neck is decorated with simple scrollwork. Marks: The underside bears painted underglaze marks: 'VH' over 'S.M.' The 'VH' mark likely refers to Willem van Hoorn, the owner of the De Witte Star (The White Star) factory in Delft, active during the late 17th and early 18th centuries (c. 1691-1724). The 'S.M.' is likely an associated painter's mark or another administrative cipher. Shipping with track and trace.Of course very carefully and safe packaged.Item can be picked up in Ekeren (Antwerpen,Belgium). No shipping to USA at this moment due the custom taxes problem between USA and Europa.
