A rare antique camel saddle in very good vintage condition. Some signs of wear in places as you'd expect but it is structurally strong and solid, as pieces like this are designed to be. This saddle would have been used for riding camels in the deserts of Africa and the Middle East. It features a distinctive curved shape with pommels at each end and is designed to fit in front of the camel's hump. It is made with a wooden frame and decorated with metal studs, studded leather with brass details and a rawhide wrapping. Historically saddles like these have been used since ancient times but for modern, European life it would make a quirky and unique footstool, bench or simply a decorative accent piece to bring a touch of Egyptian style to the home.
