A well-preserved open-ended bracelet fashioned from multiple bronze strands twisted together into a plaited design. The piece has developed a rich green and blue-green patina from centuries of burial. This style of armring was widely used in the Viking world, serving both as a personal ornament and as a form of portable wealth, often found in hoards and trade caches from Scandinavia to the Black Sea.
Historical note: Twisted bronze bracelets were a hallmark of Viking metalwork, valued both for their craftsmanship and as a tradable commodity. Examples are recorded from hoards across Northern Europe and along the Varangian trade routes into Eastern Europe and Byzantium.
