Descripción del vendedor
Celtic Bronze Bracelet – 5th to 1st Century BC – Ø 61 mm – 24.06 g
A refined Celtic bracelet crafted in bronze, dating from the late Iron Age (5th–1st century BC). Its flattened form and engraved terminals with stylized facial features suggest a ritual or symbolic significance, likely linked to identity, protection, or status. The band is adorned with linear and hatching motifs that extend symmetrically along its outer surface, reflecting the Celtic mastery of geometric decoration.
The terminal faces evoke anthropomorphic expressions, possibly representing ancestral spirits or deities. Despite the passage of centuries, the surface retains excellent definition in its carvings, with a rich green patina consistent with ancient burial. This bracelet stands as a testament to the intricate metallurgy and cultural complexity of Celtic Europe.
• Material: Bronze
• Dimensions: Internal diameter approx. 61 mm
• Weight: 24.06 g
• Date: 5th–1st Century BC
• Condition: Very good condition with clear engraved patterns and stable patina. Minor encrustations consistent with age.
An expressive artifact from the Celtic world, this bracelet fuses artistic abstraction with spiritual symbolism in a timeless band of power and identity.
Provenance: Acquired in 2025 in the Netherlands, from an old private German collection acquired in the 1990’s.
