Custom URUSHI - Black Lacquer - Pluma estilográfica

Item Description: This is the PILOT Custom URUSHI Fountain Pen - Black Lacquer - Medium Nib, a prestigious model celebrated for its exquisite craftsmanship and writing comfort. Based on the renowned Custom 845, this upgraded version showcases the refined roiro urushi finish—a traditional Japanese lacquering method where layers of lacquer are polished to produce a deep, glass-like gloss. The pen body is crafted from ebonite and finished with black urushi lacquer, offering both a stunning visual and an exceptional tactile experience. Fitted with the #30 bi-color 18K gold nib—the first of its kind by Pilot—this pen delivers a soft, expressive writing experience with gentle flexibility and a smooth ink flow. Despite its large, thick barrel, the design is balanced and surprisingly light in hand, ensuring a comfortable grip for extended writing sessions. This is a pre-owned item in excellent condition, showing only minimal surface wear. It includes a converter and supports both cartridge and converter filling systems, making it suitable for everyday use as well as a collector’s display. Size & Weight: Length (closed): approx. 155 mm Length (open for writing): approx. 141 mm Barrel diameter: approx. 16 mm Cap diameter (excluding clip): approx. 20 mm Max diameter (including clip): approx. 25 mm Weight: approx. 39 g Artist Profile: Founded in 1918 by Ryosuke Namiki, Pilot Corporation (originally Namiki Manufacturing Company) stands as one of Japan’s most esteemed writing instrument manufacturers. Their technical breakthroughs, such as in-house iridium-tipped nib production and the use of urushi lacquer, have cemented their global reputation. Pilot is among the few manufacturers that cast alloys and weld iridium balls in-house, ensuring exceptional durability and writing smoothness. The Custom URUSHI series embodies this legacy, incorporating techniques mastered by Kokkokai (the group founded under Living National Treasure Gonroku Matsuda). From ebonite molding to urushi application, each pen undergoes extensive handcrafting. The roiro (蝋色) finish, unlike standard topcoat lacquering, involves meticulous polishing that creates a mirror-like surface and a velvety feel—hallmarks of superior Japanese lacquer artistry. NOITICE: The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post, DHL or FedEx depend on the situation. It takes about 3 weeks to receive normally. Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Sometimes Customes or delivery company in your country contact you for Customs clearance via phone or email. Please make sure that you could answer the phone. If you don't, the parcel will return to me and it cost more double shipping fee for reshipping. I appreciate your cooperation.
