Islámico Bronce Anillo - Medieval 12th - 14th AD (Sin Precio de Reserva)

Islamic Culture – Bronze Signet Ring – 12th/14th Century AD – 22mm x 19mm (inner diameter) – 14.16g This remarkable medieval Islamic bronze signet ring exemplifies the robust functionality and artistic sensibility of the period. Featuring a wide, circular bezel with intricate linear motifs—possibly Kufic-inspired—set within a clearly defined border, the ring was likely intended for personal identification or sealing documents, as was customary among officials, scholars, or merchants. Despite the surface wear, the overall integrity of the engraved face remains visible, offering glimpses into the script or symbolic elements once central to its purpose. The band, thick and uneven from age and burial conditions, demonstrates signs of heavy use and oxidized patination. The ring’s notable weight suggests it was worn by someone of importance, perhaps as a marker of status or authority. The density of the material and the ring’s enduring form serve as testimony to the metallurgy and craftsmanship of Islamic artisans during the later Middle Ages. • Material: Bronze • Dimensions: 22mm x 19mm (inner diameter) • Weight: 14.16g • Date: 12th–14th century AD • Condition: Fair, with heavy encrustation and corrosion, yet structurally intact and with partial legibility of design. A bold artifact of Islamic civilization, this piece carries the weight—both literal and symbolic—of a world where faith, identity, and artistry converged in even the smallest of objects. Provenance: Acquired from an auction house in 2025, previously owned by a collector from the South of Germany, acquired in the 1980s.
