Islámico Bronce Anillo - Medieval 12th - 14th AD (Sin Precio de Reserva)

Islamic Culture – Bronze Signet Ring – 12th–14th Century AD – 22x19 mm – 5.64g This finely cast medieval Islamic signet ring is distinguished by its octagonal bezel, which displays a geometric inscription rendered in angular Kufic script. The lines are bordered by vertical bands with finely incised detailing, likely serving both decorative and functional purposes, enhancing the clarity of the impression it would leave in wax or clay. The band is simple, tapering gently into the bezel, and shows signs of wear consistent with centuries of age and use. With its symmetrical layout and stylized calligraphy, this ring likely served a dual role as a personal identifier and as a reflection of the owner’s status or literacy. Its weight and proportions suggest it may have belonged to an individual of moderate rank or wealth. The patina and greenish-brown surface attest to long-term burial or environmental exposure, but the main features remain legible and evocative of a refined yet utilitarian medieval Islamic aesthetic. • Material: Bronze • Dimensions: 22 mm (height) x 19 mm (inner diameter) • Weight: 5.64 g • Date: 12th–14th century AD • Condition: Fair. The ring is structurally intact, though the band is slightly misshapen and thinned by age. The inscription is worn but still legible, and the patina is stable and appropriate for its antiquity. A compelling object from the Islamic medieval world, preserving the elegance and clarity of Kufic epigraphy in miniature form. Provenance: Acquired from an auction house in 2025, previously owned by a collector from the South of Germany, acquired in the 1980s.
