Although they appear to be a matching set at first glance, they are in fact a mismatched pair consisting of a right and a left arm guard made separately. Both pieces are finished in vermilion lacquer. The right-hand guard shows signs of repainting on the hand-covering area and visible adhesive traces. One of the long iron splints has split into two. Both guards display typical signs of age, including losses to the lacquer, scuffs, and rust on the chain mail. The cloth components show holes, tears, stains, and colour fading. Please refer to the photographs for the exact condition. Despite their mismatched origin, these guards present well together and offer a valuable glimpse into the functional wear and aesthetic preferences of samurai armour during the Edo period. H 70-76 cm W 16.5-21 cm ・Please make sure to review all the provided information and images before placing your bid. ・We make every effort to accurately represent the product's colors and textures in our photos.
