Laurent-Perrier Ultra Brut is a pioneering brut nature Champagne produced by the House of Laurent-Perrier, introduced in 1981 as one of the first zero-dosage (no added sugar) cuvées. It blends approximately 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir sourced from 15 crus, and is aged on its lees for about six years to develop its purity and finesse. On the eye it shows a very pale, crystalline hue; on the nose it reveals intense aromas of citrus, white fruit, honeysuckle and subtle iodine/mineral notes; on the palate it is extremely dry, clean and structured, with bright acidity, a sculpted texture and a long, non-saturating finish that emphasises freshness and precision. Because it omits any dosage, it’s ideal for pairing with oysters, sushi, seafood and other light, refined dishes, and is a perfect example of Champagne in its most elemental form.
