XXe Siècle (French for “20th Century”) was an influential art magazine founded in 1938 by Gualtieri di San Lazzaro.
It was a high-end international art journal that published essays, criticism, and original artworks (including lithographs) by major modern artists such as Picasso, Miró, Chagall, Kandinsky, Léger, and many others. It aimed to document and promote 20th-century modern art and became known for its high artistic quality.
